CAN adapters under GNU/Linux manufactured by PEAK-System TechnikPCAN-PCIPCAN-Light drivers gives you access to all the CAN adapters under GNU/Linux manufactured by PEAK-System TechnikPEAK-System Technik. The PCAN-Light drivers for GNU/Linux need a Kernel Version 2.4 or higher. The complete package is freeware and is distributed under the GNU GPLGNU GPL license. The API (Application Programming Interface) for all the adapters is the same, so it is easy to develop software that runs with all the different CAN adapters Interfaces. At the moment it supports the PCI (image in this article), Parallel, USB, PC/ISA and PC/104 adapters; a complete list herehere. PCAN-Light consists of the actual driver. You can use the PCAN-Light API to create your own applications for communicating with the PCAN-PC hardware. The GNU/Linux version of the device driver is obtainable as source code for PCAN-Dongle, PCAN-PCI, PCAN-PC/104 and PCAN-ISA. Libs are available for the PCAN-USB hardware.
