Kicad a software for the creation of electronic schematic diagrams and printed circuit boardKicad is an open source (GPL) software for the creation of electronic schematic diagrams and printed circuit board artwork. It's a set of four softwares and a project manager:

  • Eeschema: Schematic entry;
  • Pcbnew: Board editor;
  • Gerbview: Gerber viewer (photoplotter documents);
  • Cvpcb: footprint selector for components used in the circuit design;
  • Kicad: project manager.

Since final version 2010-03-14 (SVN-R2456) this new version of KiCAD corrects some bug, e.g.:

  • Add CMake script to generate DSN token header and source file from token list file;
  • Enhancements in Cvpcb libraries config dialog;
  • Fixed wxWidget 2.9 compatibility problem;
  • ...and so on!
