QtiPlot - Version 0.9.7.12 has been released

E-mail
Tuesday, 09 February 2010 16:46

QtiPlot a  data analysis and scientific plotting softwareQtiPlot is a program for two- and three-dimensional graphical presentation of data sets and for data analysis. The plots can be produced from data sets stored in tables or from analytical functions. It can be successfully used for teaching as well as for complex data analysis and visualisation and is being used in companies, high schools, universities and reseach institutes all over the world. QtiPlot in this new release adds new features, improvement and bug fixes, e.g.;

  • Printing of 3D plots was improved;
  • Localization was added to muparser scripts;
  • Functions were added to the column values dialog, allowing you to calculate the sum or the mean of a range of cells in a table column;
  • The possibility to define a default spacing between ticks and labels in 2D plots was added;
  • A scientific label format with the German multiplication sign was added;
  • Auto binning in histograms was improved;
  • Detection of user defined constants in the 2D function dialog was implemented;
  • The possibility to maximize the print preview dialog was added.
HereHere the complete list of changes.

XCircuit - Revision 165 and 5

XCircuit a schematic drawing tool targeted at  producing nice publishable schematic capturesXCircuit is a powerful open source schematic capture program. It has most of the features of a general purpose drawing package and includes a symbol library facility that can be used to store user defined schematic symbols. Schematics, libraries of vacuum tube, flow charts, chemical diagrams, and even musical scores may be created with XCircuit by loading the freely available symbol libraries. A mathematical symbol typesetting capability is included in the program. XCircuit uses the PostScript language for its output and library files. The PostScript created by XCircuit is human readable which makes manual editing possible. On stable (3.6.165) and development version (3.7.5);
  • Corrected an error in string array size that can cause a crash when a new window is created.

Sage an open source mathematics computing environmentSage is an open source mathematics computing environment (MCE) which covers many aspects of mathematics, e.g. algebra, calculus, elementary to very advanced number theory, cryptography, numerical computation, group theory and so on. Sage 4.3.2 has been released. In this version a total of 197 new functions were added since version 4.3.1 increaseing doctest coverage by 0.2%, then the total number of functions is now at 24594 (overall weighted coverage score: 81.5%). Some changes in this release are:

  • Fix ref manual issues in linear_code.py;
  • Corrected some bugs in evaluation of spherical bessel function;
  • Fix issue with multi_polynomial.pyx in sage-4.3.2.alpha0;
  • Improvements to complex AGM.
Sage 4.3.2 closed 125 tickets, all of which are available herehere for your reading pleasure.

Spectrum Instrumentation, a company dedicated to manufacture fast PCI, PXI, CompactPCI instruments. Used as ADC boards, DAC boards, transient recorder, high-speed data acquisition, signal generator (arbitrary waveform and pattern generators), digital I/O boards, DAQ, oscilloscope. Products available with 8 bit, 12 bit, 14 bit, 16 bit resolution and provide computer supplies. Spectrum has focused its business on the high-speed A/D, D/A and Digital I/O range with sampling rates between 100 kS/s, 1 MS/s, 10 MS/s, 50 MS/s, 100 MS/s, 200 MS/s, 500 MS/s and 1GS/sM2i.46x2 series boards PCI/PCI Express 4 Channel 16 Bit Transient Recorder from 200 kS/s up to 3 MS/sA PC instrumentation board, be it PCI, PCI-X, PCI Express, PXI or CompactPCI, transforms a standard PC to a universal powerful instrument. Compared to a stand-alone solution there are several advantages like best flexibility, data is rapidly available for calculation, a wide range of available software solutions, software programmable hardware settings for ease of use and highest performance, easy combination of different hardware possible and so on! Setting up a mixed mode system or stimulus-response test benches is no problem combining the wide range of multi channel A/D, D/A and Digital I/O cards with the internal card synchronisation. In contrast to stand-alone instruments which only have one fixed function, the modular instruments can turn into any kind of virtual instrument using the latest PC processing technology. Spectrum is a manufacturer for fast PCI, PXI, CompactPCI instruments. Used as ADC, DAC, transient recorder, data acquisition, signal generator, ARB, digital I/O, pattern generator, DAQ, oscilloscope. A new version of driver for GNU/Linux has been released. In this new version:

  • Added M3i.21xx 8 bit 1 GS/s digitizer series;
  • M2i.474x series: support of maximum sampling clock 1.33 MS/s;
  • Bug-Fix Linux: usage of very large software buffers could lead to driver crash when doing DMA transfers;
  • Bug-Fix M3i series: timestamps were sometimes returned as values with factor 2 depending on the channel setting and minimum reference clock input was returend wrong (1 MS/s instead of 10 MS/s);
  • Bug-Fix MI compatibility: switching M2i.70xx between replay and acquisition mode returned old data on first acquisition;
  • Bug-Fix M2i.46xx series hardware version V1: trigger level programmed wrong;
  • Bug-Fix: timestamp reference clock flag now only reported if needed BaseXIo option installed;
  • Bug-Fix: minimum synchronization clock rate was wrong.

CAN adapters under GNU/Linux manufactured by  PEAK-System TechnikPCAN-USB - USB to CAN InterfacePCAN-Light for LINUX is the easy to use software interface for CAN hardware by PEAK-System. There's a single API (Application Programming Interface) for all CAN interfaces. This simplifies the software development. The drivers are designed to work with CAN hardware by PEAK-System and 100 percent compatible hardware by OEM vendors. Take care when using third-party hardware, since the drivers use special functions. In this new version (6.15) of GNU/Linux driver;

  • Fix a problem with PCAN-USB driver (Baudrate fix);
  • New manual.
