Elettrolinux's repository

In this section you can download (available round the clock) the packages for the Slackware distribution of much of the software contained in this site, except drivers and programs such as RTAI and so on. This repository, currently only for computers x86_32, is built with the same menu items Categories. All dependencies (libraries, development tools, etc.) are in separate folders from item Categories.

1) You can manually download packages in your hard disk then install them with the command;

# installpkg file_name.txz

or, if you downloaded more than one package in the same folder, with the command;

# installpkg *.txz

Then to download packages of your interest, click on the appropriate package type.

2) If you are using Swaret tool (here patched version for Slackware 13.0) to manage your packages, then add to its configuration file /etc/swaret.conf this line;

REPOS_ROOT=elettrolinux%http://repository.elettrolinux.com/Slackware-13.0/

Then install packages with command;

# swaret --install package_name

3) If, instead, you are using Slackyd tool (download it from here) for your package management duties, add the following lines to /etc/slackyd/slackyd.conf in the #Extra repositories section:

# Elettrolinux.com
repository elettrolinux = http://repository.elettrolinux.com/Slackware-13.0/

Then use the command:

slackyd -u

to update the database (elettrolinux repository in this case), then just use;

slackyd -g package_name

to seek, verify (md5 checksum) then download the package package_name. Now the packages have been cached in your hard disk, then type:

# installpkg /var/slackyd/*.txz

to install it/them or the command:

# upgradepkg /var/slackyd/*.txz

to update it/them.

Now clear the cache with the command:

# slackyd -p

that's it!

4) Well, and if am I using Slapt-get how to set repository? Just add the line shown below to /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc:

SOURCE=http://repository.elettrolinux.com/Slackware-13.0/

then use;

slapt-get --install package_name
